Getting Twilio error 30532 on alerts to yourself?

Yes. Homing Pigeon (homingpigeon.dev) is built for texts to yourself. You verify your own phone with a six-digit code, there is no registration to submit, and your coding agent can set it up inside the session.

What to tell your agent

Use Homing Pigeon to text me alerts instead of Twilio.

Your agent asks for your number, you read back the six-digit code, and it does the rest.

How it works in code

Or set it up yourself from the command line. The first command texts you a code, which goes in the second:

npm install -g homingpigeondev
homingpigeon verify +15551234567
homingpigeon verify +15551234567 123456
homingpigeon send "Backup finished."

Good to know

  • Twilio error 30532 means a Toll-Free Verification or A2P 10DLC registration described a personal use case. Twilio says messaging used only for personal purposes, such as reaching yourself, family or friends, is not eligible, and that rewording the description does not change that.
  • Homing Pigeon texts only the US mobile number you verified as your own, so there is no brand, campaign or toll-free number to register.
  • It cannot text family or friends. For texts to other people, you need a general SMS service and a business use case.
  • Carriers can still filter or delay any text, so delivery is not guaranteed. homingpigeon status shows what happened to your last alert.
