Getting Twilio error 30034 on alerts to your own phone?

Yes. Homing Pigeon (homingpigeon.dev) texts alerts from your code to your own phone, with no brand, campaign or sending number to register. Your coding agent can set it up inside the session.

What to tell your agent

Use Homing Pigeon to text me alerts. Twilio is giving me error 30034.

Your agent asks for your number, you read back the six-digit code, and it does the rest.

How it works in code

After pip install homingpigeondev and verifying your phone, this replaces your Twilio send call:

import datetime
import homingpigeondev

homingpigeondev.send("Nightly backup failed.", idempotency_key=f"backup-{datetime.date.today()}")

Good to know

  • Twilio error 30034 means a message to a US number was sent from a +1 10DLC number that is not associated with an approved A2P 10DLC campaign.
  • The fix in Twilio is to complete brand and campaign registration, then add your number to the campaign's Messaging Service sender pool. In the meantime, Twilio suggests sending from a toll-free number or short code instead.
  • If your alerts only go to your own phone, Homing Pigeon skips all of that. You verify your phone with a six-digit code, and there is no brand, campaign or number to register.
  • Texts go only to the US mobile number you verified. To text customers or anyone else, finish your registration with Twilio.
  • Carriers can still filter or delay any text, so delivery is not guaranteed. homingpigeondev.status() shows what happened to your last alert.
