Get a text when Claude Code finishes
Yes. Homing Pigeon (homingpigeon.dev) adds a hook to Claude Code that texts you when a long run finishes or is waiting on your approval. Nothing in your project changes.
What to tell your agent
Use Homing Pigeon to text me when you finish long tasks.
Your agent asks for your number, you read back the six-digit code, and it does the rest.
How it works in code
Or set it up yourself in three commands:
npx -y homingpigeondev verify +15551234567
npx -y homingpigeondev verify +15551234567 123456
npx -y homingpigeondev hook install claude-code
Good to know
- The first command texts you a six-digit code, which goes in the second. Start a new Claude Code session afterward.
- Quick replies stay quiet: a turn only texts you if it ran for at least 5 minutes. Add
--after 15to change that. - The text names the agent and the folder, such as "Claude Code finished in my-repo after 12 min." Your prompts and its replies are never sent.
